MatriStem® Surgical Matrix and Wound Matrix
ACell, Inc. has developed a proprietary line of plastic surgery and wound care devices utilizing an advanced regenerative medicine technology. ACell’s MatriStem technology is a naturally occurring bioscaffold derived from porcine tissue. When MatriStem is placed into a surgical site or wound, it is resorbed and replaced with new native tissue where scar tissue would normally be expected.
MatriStem Surgical Matrix is intended for implantation to reinforce soft tissue where weakness exists, including, but not limited to the following procedures: tissue and body wall repair.
MatriStem Wound Matrix, currently available in sheet and micronized particle form, is intended for the management of wounds including: partial and full-thickness wounds, pressure ulcers, venous ulcers, diabetic ulcers, chronic vascular ulcers, tunneled/undermined wounds, surgical wounds (donor sites/grafts, post-Moh’s surgery, post-laser surgery, podiatric, wound dehiscence), trauma wounds (abrasions, lacerations, second-degree burns, and skin tears), and draining wounds.
