Veterinary Hospital Comments:
These pictures are of a 13 year old Labrador with a bite wound on the cranial aspect of the hock. This wound had been closed by another veterinary hospital and "Chadwick" chewed out the sutures. Because of the location of the wound (right over the hock joint) we initially felt that this would take a long time to heal because of movement. We started with wet-to-dry bandages for 1 day to help debride the tissue and then used ACell Vet. As you can see the results were great.
There was a significant increase in the granulation bed and the start of wound contracture after the first application. After the second application there was a significant increase in wound contracture and granulation tissue. Two weeks following the 2nd application, wound healing was almost complete. The owner did the bandage changes at home after the 2nd application. His comment was that each time he changed the bandage the wound was smaller. He was very impressed with the ACell Vet. I think that this is pretty significant since the wound only took 4 weeks to heal.
